911 GT2 RS Chronograph by Porsche Design

It has been interesting to watch Porsche Design step up its presence over the last few months. Just since January 1, the design firm has become wholly owned by the car company that bears its name. It’s also become a sponsor of note to Porsche’s racing program, with logos on those cars. Now, it’s paired with Porsche specifically on this new chronograph in line with the latest and greatest 911.

Description

The way to your personal timepiece. The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS is exklusively designed for the small circle of people who have come a little closer to their personal dream of the perfect sports car. As from July 30, 2017, you can order your individual time piece exclusively in the Porsche Center together with the 911 GT2 RS.

Numerous aspects of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS are incorporated in the design and engineering of the chronograph: The dial is made of carbon, as are the stabilizers or the shift paddles of the Weissach package. Original GT Silver exterior paint enhances the noble dial. The time display resembles the instrument cluster and rev counter of the 911 GT2 RS.

In terms of specifications, the Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS also fully complies with the vehicle concept. The straps in the colors of the vehicle interior are made from the same materials as used inside the car. The chronograph comes equipped with two easily interchangeable leather straps with black and red Alcantara®.

The rotor of the Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS is an exact replica of the 911 GT2 RS alloy wheel. Made out of tungsten, it attaches to the movement by means of the typical Porsche central locking, featuring the ‘RS’ inscription. Symbolizing maximum performance, the individual chassis number is engraved on the case back.

The chronograph reaches maximum performance thanks to the first proprietary Porsche Design caliber Werk 01.200 with flyback function, that enables the measurement of short successive intervals, just like in motorsport.
