There are certain toys that really make you want to be a kid again. Sure, any adult can build a Lego kit, but you’d have to go back to single digits to fit into the likes of a Pennewitz Porsche. You’d also likely have to go to Germany where they’re tailor-made to a customer’s spec… unless of course you want to grab the one we found this week on Ebay.

First, the details on Pennewitz in general. Click through to their website and it’s hard not to fall in love with their 1.23 scale electric powered works based on the designs of vintage Porsches. Go that route and you can get anything from a 550 Spyder to 356 Speedster or even a 904 GTS. Custom paint, auxiliary lights and more can be specced.

Pennewitz recommends the cars for ages 3-10. Each features working lights and sound, and they’re supposedly good for speeds up to 20 km/h (12.4 mph). Prices are said to begin at 6,500 Euros.

Of course the Porsche 550 Spyder may be best known in pop culture as the car piloted by the late great James Dean. Dean famously called his car the “Little Bastard” for its small displacement giant-killer qualities. We reckon we’d be jealous enough of the kid who gets to roll in this thing as “Little Bastard” also.

As mentioned, we’ve found a used example for sale from a seller in Arkansas, though the car (along with shipping crate) is located in Florida. It’s got some wear on it, mainly on the badges, though it can also be had at a presumed discount given bidding begins at $4999.99.
