When it comes to builds on Lego Ideas that we tend to share with our readers, there are two distinct styles. First is the highly marketable and likely to get produced. Second are designs we suspect may be too niche for prime time, and yet grab us right in the feels. Such is the case with this Martini livery Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione rally car.

In Lego parlance, this build is what you might describe as a Technic. It’s got more technical detail, a larger scale and many more parts. It uses specific parts really only found in Technic kits. In as much, it fits within the Lego kit lexicon… but with Lancia failing, we suspect only aging 40 and 50-somethings who romanticize a lost era of rallying will get fired up over the thing… and that’s  a shame, because we would buy one in a heartbeat.

Like most Lego builds, fitting within the confines of parts availability eats into the realism of the car. Nevertheless, this Lancia is realistic as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit offered by Lego is realistic. In its favor, it’s also got two XL motors for permanent all-wheel drive, a working transmission, brakes and steering, which all combine to make it remote controlled… and with four working doors and a full Lego interior to boot.

If you don’t find that enticing, then go back to your Prius. If you do, then go over to Lego Ideas and give this guy some much needed votes.
