John Morton’s 1971 BRE Datsun 510 #46, 1:18 Scale by RetroMotoring & Co.

John Morton fell in love with racing when his dad took him to a Road Atlanta race.  He dropped out of college and attended Carroll Shelby’s racing school.  After racing in amateur SCCA races, he joined the Shelby American Racing team in 1964 and won the GT class at the Road America 500, second overall, in a team Cobra.

He was hired by Peter Brock for his BRE Datsun team in 1968.  He and the team dominated the SCCA C Production 2.5 Trans-Am with the 510 (Championships in 1971-72).

This 1:18 scale model BRE Datsun 510 #46 immortalizes John Morton’s 1971 SCCA Trans-AM Championship.
